Plastics

The Festo Plastics Training System provides hands-on STEM instruction in the materials, processes, and engineering principles used to manufacture plastic products. Students explore polymers, polymerization, thermoplastics and thermosets, material properties, mold design, injection molding, and vacuum forming. Using actual injection molding and vacuum forming equipment, students design, prototype, and manufacture plastic parts while applying the engineering design process and learning how material and process selection affect the finished product.
